The “Gateway to Maryland Parkway” is one step closer to becoming reality at 51ԹϺ’s campus. The university is using part of a $6.2 million state appropriation to continue planning and design for a new Lee Business School building at Maryland Parkway and Frazier Way, near the main campus entrance.

51ԹϺ will confer approximately 3,500 degrees during spring commencement ceremonies this weekend at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Nevada's regents have officially approved 51ԹϺ Provost and Executive Vice President Dr. Chris Heavey as the university's new interim president.

Whitfield became the president in 2020 and led the campus through the COVID-19 pandemic, a shooting that killed three faculty members and the opening of a new medical school campus.
