Why do I pay for phone service each month?

Telephone service is not centrally funded by the university. Telecommunications is a service center that’s funded by a self supporting budget. Each project, program, department, or school is charged for the services received.

Why is there a charge to cancel an extension?

Labor is not subsidized by central funding or monthly recurring service charges. You are charged for the work requested.

Is a university desk phone required?

No, Telecommunications does not require an employee to use a desk phone. A softphone is an alternative to a physical desk phone. 

Am I required to use a university phone number?

It’s a good idea to use university equipment, phone numbers, and systems for university business. Personal phones used for work or university business may contain records that become discoverable under the Freedom of Information Act. An employee may work in a school or department that requires the use of a university phone. Speak to your supervisor for more information.

Is there a self-service option?

Yes. Use your ACE ID to log into the LineOne website to view and modify select settings on your phone.

I don't see my phone listed in the self-service website.

Submit a to report a problem with the self service feature. Provide your ace id, phone mac address, and directory number.

Voicemail

How do I change my voicemail password?

There are several methods to change a voicemail password. Changing the voicemail password if you are locked out of your voice mailbox requires a work order request.  There is no cost for this service although an account number is required to process a work order request.

How do I get my voicemail from off-campus?
  1. Dial 702-774-4900.
  2. Press the * key to access the login prompt.
  3. Enter the five digit directory number followed by #.
  4. Enter the mailbox pin followed by #.
  5. The automated attendant will guide the caller to listen to messages or change settings.

Yes. Voice messages can be delivered to your university email address.

  • Enhanced Voicemail (voicemail to email transcription)
  • Or voicemail to email (as an audio attachment only)

Another choice for customers that do not share a mailbox is to enable the Cisco Jabber softphone feature. Voice messages are displayed in the app.
