Brief Description of Professional Background

Steve is a 15-year internal audit professional and has spent his career at MGM Resorts, currently serving as an Executive Director of Internal Audit. He leads the teams providing assurance and advisory services through all stages of operational, anti-money laundering, and ESG audit disciplines as well as management requests. Steve graduated from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ and obtained a B.S. in business administration and accounting and an M.S. in accountancy. He holds professional certifications of Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certification in Risk Management Assurance. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He currently is a director for the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Lee Business School Alumni Board. Previously, he served on the board of the Las Vegas Chapter of the IIA as a Secretary (two years) and board member (eight years).

What Inspired You to Join the Board

As a native Las Vegan and alumni of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Lee Business School, I wanted to get involved and give back my time to my alma mater.

What Goals or Initiatives Are You Most Passionate About? 

I'm excited to see how I can contribute my time to help fellow alumni connect and to impact current students of the Lee Business School through scholarships and involvement.

What Advice Would You Give to Current Students?

Get involved in student organizations and grow your network as much as possible. This is something I did not do enough of while I was at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. While I was fortunate to secure a position shortly after graduating, now that I've been a hiring manager for many years, I can see how much of a role a robust network plays in securing your future.
