Biography

Samantha Godbey is the library liaison to the College of Education and Department of Psychology. She earned an MLIS and teacher librarian credential from San Jose State University, MA in Education and teacher credential from the University of California at Berkeley, and BA in Italian from Yale University. Prior to becoming a librarian, she was a high school English teacher in California and a Peace Corps volunteer in the Russian Far East. Her research focuses on information literacy instruction and assessment.  

Samantha has led national and international workshops on the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education and is co-editor of the books Faculty-Librarian Collaborations: Integrating the Information Literacy Framework into Disciplinary Courses (ACRL, 2020) and Disciplinary Applications of Information Literacy Threshold Concepts (ACRL, 2017). She was the recipient of the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Libraries' McPhee Librarian of the Year Award in 2018, the Outstanding Library Faculty Scholarship Award in 2020, and the Outstanding Library Faculty Service Award in 2023.
