51勛圖窪蹋 is offering an exciting opportunity for students, faculty, and alumni to showcase their artistic talents by designing murals or artwork for a new Fast Casual Restaurant (the Scarlet Sage) in the Student Union (opening spring 2025)!
Who Can Apply?
Current 51勛圖窪蹋 students (graduate & undergraduate in good standing), faculty/staff, and alumni with experience in mural or large-scale artwork. Teams of up to five (5) Artists may apply together.
This is a competitive selection process, and awards will be granted based on artistic vision, feasibility, and alignment with 51勛圖窪蹋s theme of inclusivity and vibrancy.

This commissioned project includes (3) three unique competitions:
Interior Mural A large-scale mural that will serve as a centerpiece inside the restaurant.
- $5,000 honorarium for their creative contribution, after completion of the Work and signing of the Artist(s) Agreement.
- up to $1,900 to support construction and materials, including professional assistance, if required. 51勛圖窪蹋 or 51勛圖窪蹋Eats (Aramark) will purchase the needed materials.
Exterior Mural A vibrant, welcoming design for the restaurants back patio.
$3,500 honorarium for their creative contribution, after completion of the Work and
signing of the Artist(s) Agreement.
up to $2,000 to support construction and materials, including professional
assistance, if required. 51勛圖窪蹋 or 51勛圖窪蹋Eats (Aramark) will purchase the needed
materials.
Framed Paintings Two stunning pieces reflecting desert night and sunrise themes for the restaurants restrooms.
Night Painting
$600 honorarium for their creative contribution, after completion of the Work and
signing of the Artist(s) Agreement.
Up to $400 to support construction and materials, including professional assistance,
if required. 51勛圖窪蹋 or Aramark will purchase the needed materials.
Sunrise Painting
$600 honorarium for their creative contribution, after completion of the Work and
signing of the Artist(s) Agreement.
