WHAT: Undergraduate researchers from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's TRiO Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program will present their summer research findings during the 2009 McNair Scholars Research Symposium

DETAILS: Fourteen undergraduate students spent the summer working with top 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ researchers as part of the McNair Scholars Institute. Coordinated through the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Center for Academic Enrichment and Outreach, the federally funded institute aims to diversify the ranks of American faculty by providing access and research opportunities for first generation and underrepresented college students.
In addition to the research component, participants attend professional and financial aid workshops, doctoral studies preparation seminars and have an opportunity to present their work at regional and national research conferences. 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ is one of 180 colleges and universities across the country that host McNair programs.
