The Galleria at Sunset - located at 1300 W. Sunset Road in Henderson - will host 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Day on Sunday, Oct. 30. From noon to 4 p.m., 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ will have information and displays available from many of its departments - from admissions to alumni to athletics - for interested students, parents, community partners and athletic fans. There will also be fun activities for kids introducing them to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ and higher education.
"51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ is a vital partner in our community and it's important that we let people know of the opportunities that we offer," said 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ President Neal Smatresk. "This will be a great way to find out more about becoming a Rebel and for those who are to celebrate with us."
The first 200 people to visit the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ ticketing table on the ground floor of the Galleria at Sunset on October 30 - starting at noon - will receive a Rebel vanity case. Giveaways and drawings will also be held during the event. Representatives from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Athletics will also be on hand to meet and greet fans.
There will also be entertainment throughout the afternoon from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's cheerleaders, the Vegas Vanguard Entertainment Drumline and SweetSpot Entertainment 15-year-old recording artist LexRox, who recently released "Runnin' with the Rebels."
"We're excited to partner with 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ and help spread the word about the great things happening at the university," said Heather Valera, the director of marketing for the Galleria at Sunset. "It should be a fun day for the entire family as we celebrate our community's university."
Anyone wearing 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Rebel gear will also receive free admission that day into FunTown FrightFest, a carnival hosted by Peoples Autism Foundation located in the south parking lot of the Galleria at Sunset.
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ celebrates Homecoming Week October 31 to November 5.
