More than 1,000 high school students from Clark County will be introduced to the construction industry and construction-related fields, including the trades, construction management, engineering, architecture, and related secondary fields such as accounting, marketing and facilities management. The event is designed to educate students about a professional industry that is exciting, lucrative and full of prospects for career advancement.
This one-day event will allow students to see a demonstration of different types of construction machinery, participate in workshops and laboratories in the College of Engineering, and learn about internships, apprenticeship programs and higher education opportunities.
The Construction Management program at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ provides a well-rounded education, combining theoretical learning with practical laboratory experience. Our students and alumni are in high demand and working on major engineering and construction projects in Las Vegas and around the globe.
Industry partners in attendance will include Las Vegas Paving, the Nevada Department of Transportation, Sunstate Equipment, The PENTA Building Group and dozens more.
The event is hosted by the Las Vegas chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America and the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. The event is free and open to the public.
