U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen, D-Nevada, has proposed the Physicians for Underserved Areas Act, which aims to bring more doctors to regions in need. The bill, S.709, was announced as Nevada ranks 46th for states in primary care physicians per 100,000 people. All 17 of the state’s counties have healthcare professional shortages.

With Las Vegas expected to reach a population of 3 million by 2042, health care in an already underserved community and attracting medical professionals will become more important than ever.
