Registered Republican voters have — by the narrowest of margins — overtaken Democrats in the pivotal battleground state of Nevada for the first time in nearly 20 years.

Republicans have taken the lead over Democrats in Nevada’s voter registration numbers, marking the first time in nearly 20 years the GOP has outnumbered Democrats in the battleground state.

Kamala Harris didn't stand a chance in Nevada. Or at least it would've been almost impossible given the state's shift away from Democrats and toward Republicans over the past four years.

For the first time in two decades, Nevada swung red in a presidential election. President-elect Donald Trump won the state by just over three percentage points in the 2024 general election. (In 2016 and 2020, he lost to the Democratic presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden by just under three percentage points.)

With one day before the canvass by each county board of commissioners, we're getting a better idea of voter turnout here in Clark County. According to the Secretary of State's office, there was about a 70% turnout, 5% lower than in 2020.

Despite that Trump won the Silver State, Republican military veteran Sam Brown lost to incumbent Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.). The Senate race came down to the fact that Rosen was the incumbent, according to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ political science professor Daniel Lee.

After months of incessant campaign ads and an onslaught of political events, the 2024 election is over. It saw a sweeping victory for Republican President-elect Donald Trump, and it continued the tradition of close U.S. Senate races in Nevada.

Donald Trump, a twice-impeached former president convicted of multiple felonies, has been declared the next President of the United States. And based on vote counts available early November 6, it’s possible he could have a Republican-controlled Congress. Republicans notched a majority in the Senate. As of press time, it was too early to call which party would have control in the House of Representatives.
