On July 15, 2025, the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ officially welcomed its ninth cohort. Earlier in the week, the students were able to meet their classmates and get to know each other during a number of orientation activities.

Starting off the week, the school held the class's sorting ceremony where all the students were sorted into their learning communities. After spending time learning more about the school and getting to know their learning community members, the students participated in a scavenger hunt around the medical education building.
The week ended with the official welcome ceremony, where students were joined by their loved ones to celebrate the start of their journey at the school of medicine.
Get to Know the Class of 2029
During the 2024-2025 application cycle, the school received a record 2,375 applications and 300 interviews were conducted. Finally, offers went out to only the most accomplished applicants who demonstrated their passion for becoming physicians and serving Nevada.

Of the 66 members of the class, 24% are underrepresented in medicine, 32% have socio-economic indicators, and 24% are first-generation college students. Twenty-six of the students graduated from Nevada universities, with 15 graduating from 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ and 11 graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno.
In terms of academics, the class has an average cumulative GPA of 3.78 and an average BCPM (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math) GPA of 3.73. The class’s average Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) score is 509.
