51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's signature back-to-school tradition, Premier 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, welcomes students to the academic year. Featuring free food, live music, and the iconic 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ letters photo op, thousands of students visited the Intramural Field Aug. 28 with their Rebel pride on full display.
After picking up the event t-shirt (a favorite for staff volunteers as well as students), Rebels take a spin on carnival rides and enjoy food before the pep rally kicks off the night.
The milestone moment of the event includes filling out the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ letters, where each letter is distinguished by their year in school (from first-year students in the "U" to seniors and graduate students in the "V"). As the Rebels cheer, waving their light sticks, fireworks illuminate the letters, and the moment is captured for posterity from high above. Photos from nearly 30 years of events line the walls of the Student Involvement Offices in the Student Union, reminding student leaders and staff of the energy and excitement of the start of the semester all year long.
