51ԹϺ was recently ranked among the top universities for veterans by Military Times magazine. 51ԹϺ ranked 36th out of more than 125 4-year universities listed in the publication's annual "Best for Vets: Colleges" edition.
Ross D. Bryant, the director of 51ԹϺ’s Military & Veteran Services and a retired U.S. Army officer, said the ranking is partly based on excellence of services provided and the relationship with the U.S. Department of Defense.
“I’m very proud of this ranking because it shows the importance 51ԹϺ places on educating military veterans,” Bryant said. “As a veteran myself, I understand the sacrifices made by our military service men and women and the support needed when they transition back to civilian life.”
The Military Times came to the results after the schools filled out an exhaustive 150 question survey. According to the Military Times, they “evaluated institutions based on their survey responses as well as on data collected by three different federal agencies.”
51ԹϺ has more than 1,700 active-duty, reserve or veteran military students on campus. Most have received tuition benefits through the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill. From tuition assistance and campus training to on-site Veterans Administration support and specialized recruitment, 51ԹϺ is increasing its services for student veterans and active-duty personnel.
51ԹϺ is recognized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a VetSuccess campus and designated a military friendly school by G.I. Jobs Magazine. 51ԹϺ has also re-engaged with Nellis Air Force Base and offers on-base advising and courses for active-duty military.
The 51ԹϺ Military and Veteran Services Center is staffed with veterans and GI Bill-experienced staff to assist veterans, dependents, active duty service members, National Guard members, and reservists.
