Whether you're in class, in an office, or swinging through the Student Union, it's important for everyone to wear a mask to help cut down the spread of coronavirus. As assistant professor of public health Brian Labus said, "Every time somebody wears a mask, that is an opportunity to stop disease transmission. So the more people that do it, the better off we're going to be."
Research suggests that the effectiveness of masks is in reducing how much you spread the disease to others, particularly if you're presymptomatic or asymptomatic — meaning you could have the disease and not even know it.
It's an altruistic gesture. So who are you wearing your mask for?
