Robert Futrell (Sociology) recently published a co-authored chapter, "" in Right-Wing Movements in North America and Europe: Media, Identity, and Parties (Routledge). The chapter offers a more complex, nuanced, and useful conceptual approach to understanding the expansion and normalization of extremist white supremacy. It counters typical interpretations that largely depict extremism as a collection of fragmented and sporadically-organized people, groups, networks and organizations.
