Kelly Chung (Public Health) was honored to be chosen as one of only three student podium presenters at the 11th Annual Research Symposium hosted by the Roseman University of Health Sciences. Chung presented her research project, "Environmental Parasite Contamination: A Study Evaluating Soil in Urban Dog Parks." She completed this study as part of her public health undergraduate Pre-GA research project in the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Parasitology and Vector Biology (PARAVEC) Laboratory under the mentorship of Chad L. Cross (Epidemiology and Biostatistics). This important research is part of a larger study investigating the prevalence of parasites in companion animals in Southern Nevada, which aims to understand parasitic disease burden, environmental exposure, and the potential for zoonotic pathogen transmission to humans.
