Kavita Batra (Medicine), in collaboration with researchers from Italy and Poland, published the study titled "Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBDs) vs. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): A Comparative Qualitative Study on Prevalent Themes, Emotions, and Quality of Life (QoL)" in the Journal of Health and Social Sciences. While previous research has largely compared QoL across gastrointestinal conditions in a general sense, this study uniquely explores the distinct emotional experiences and sources of suffering associated with IBD and IBS. The findings reveal significant differences in patient narratives and dominant psychosocial themes, highlighting the need for condition-specific, personalized therapeutic approaches. The study underscores the importance of tailoring clinical management strategies to the nuanced needs of each patient population, thereby promoting more targeted and empathetic care.
