Kavita Batra (Medicine) was recently invited to become a member of the Global Health Educators Community (GHECo), which is a part of the new Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH). The GHECo provides professional development and networking opportunities for professors who teach global health courses, design curricula and experiential learning activities for nonclinical undergraduate and graduate programs, and oversee baccalaureate majors and minors, academic master’s degrees, and research-based doctoral degrees. In 2018 CUGH secured a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to work with the US academic community to increase support for US leadership and funding for global health.
