The Department of World Languages & Cultures hosted the joint 2018 annual conference of the Medieval Association of the Pacific (MAP) and the (RMMRA) earlier this month. Held at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, the conference had 120 registrants from around the nation and included participants from New Zealand, Ireland, and Great Britain. In recognition of RMMRA's 50th anniversary, the conference theme was "Memory and Remembrance in the Middle Ages and Renaissance." Plenary speakers were Bronwen Wilson of UCLA ( "Stone Matters: Botticelli's Drawings for Dante's Inferno") and Seeta Chaganti of UC-Davis ("The Westward Middle Ages: Roundups and Remembrance"). The conference received generous support from the College of Liberal Arts, the department of English, and the department of history. Margaret Harp served as a conference organizer.
