Description

The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art is proud to present Floreo, an installation by Las Vegas artist Brian Martinez. Positioned against a dynamic red and blue background, a new shaped painting by the artist will bring different eras of Mexican art history together in an unexpected whole. Blending Diego Rivera’s 1942 Vendedora de Flores (The Flower Seller) with Mesoamerican imagery and street fashion, this installation continues Martinez’s ongoing exploration of the intersection between historical and contemporary Chicano culture.

Floreo will be on view in the Window Gallery of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art from June 20–Dec. 20, 2025. The opening reception will take place from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, 20
