Jim Stuart
Jim Stuart, founding partner of Matter Real Estate Group, is privileged to contribute to the evolution of Las Vegas through the development of over three million square feet of commercial properties, including the acclaimed UnCommons mixed-use project. His journey in real estate began with the founding of Colliers International, followed by a transition to development launching Centra Properties in 2001. There, he oversaw the creation of significant projects such as Town Square and Centra Point, along with numerous neighborhood shopping centers and industrial parks, culminating in over $2 billion in successful developments across the Las Vegas Valley.
Navigating the complexities of the 2007 market, he guided his company through a period of strategic repositioning while liquidating nearly all of their real estate holdings prior to the recession. He is grateful for the recognition he has received, including being named among Goldman Sachs' "Top 100 Builders and Innovators" (2013-2015) and Ernst & Young's "Entrepreneur of the Year" for Southern California (2015). His deep connection to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas extends beyond his time as an alumnus; it is also where he met his wife, with whom he has shared over thirty years of marriage. However, his greatest source of pride remains the "Best Father in the World" award, presented to him in 2008 by his three daughters – his most discerning critics and his most cherished accomplishment.
