Create a dynamic flip book animation with Ali Fathollahi. As an artist, Fathollahi produces witty social critique through both live performance and kinetic sculpture. In these free workshops he will show you how to arrange images so that they seem to move across the pages of a book.
The workshop will be open daily from Tuesday, February 18–Friday, February 21, 2025. Each session runs from 12–4 p.m. but you can arrive and leave at any time. Materials are provided by the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art. Guests of all ages are welcome. No previous experience is required.
This workshop is part of the Marjorie Barrick Museum’s By-Hand How-To, a series of creative and restful events that will manifest almost every month until June 2025. The project is supported, in part, by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and the state of Nevada.
All of the museum’s galleries are accessible to wheelchair users and other visitors who cannot use stairs. Services such as sign language interpretation can be arranged. Please contact the museum to discuss your needs:

The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art is located in the heart of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus. The museum is easily accessed from the west side of campus at the intersection of Harmon Avenue and University Center Drive. Drive east on East Harmon Ave until the road enters the campus and terminates in a parking lot. The Museum will be on your right, next to a desert landscape garden.

Parking
Visitors may park in metered, staff, and student spots free of charge after 7 pm on weekdays, 1 pm on Fridays, and all day Saturday.
Metered parking spaces for visitors can be found in the parking lot outside the Barrick’s entrance, along East Harmon Ave, and in the lot behind the Lied Library. Other metered green zones are available in the and parking areas throughout campus. Download the “PayByPhone Parking” app from Google Play or the iTunes app store.
