Carmi Moser, Cohort 23
Jun. 14, 2025

For Carmi Moser, adding 51ԹϺ’s Executive MBA to her list of achievements isn’t just another career accolade -- it marks a strategic shift in how she plans to approach her work. Entering the program with a background in cybersecurity and risk management, Carmi is looking to bolster her leadership credentials and move beyond the technical trenches.

“Cybersecurity is always changing, with new regulations, evolving threats, and technologies constantly reshaping how we manage risk,” she explains. “For leaders in the field, staying up to date is a necessity.

“You need to be able to speak to the business lines and translate the risks that are relevant to them in order to protect them.”

As Senior Principal Cybersecurity Specialist at FINRA, Carmi is a standout technical expert among her Cohort 23 classmates. Her career spans the full spectrum of IT operations, compliance, security, risk, and governance, making her an invaluable contributor to a cohort that counts leaders from the business, legal, hospitality, healthcare, and academic sectors among its ranks. She previously served as Director of Governance, Risk, and Compliance at Kaseya, and played a key role in constructing the Security Operations Center for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. In Southern Nevada, she has managed IT operations for Virgin Hyperloop One – one of the community’s most talked-about tech initiatives.

Even with a wealth of professional experience and a resume that includes a Master’s in Information Technology from American InterContinental University, an IT Engineering degree from Charter College, and the coveted CISSP, CCSP, CDPSE, and GCIH certifications, Carmi felt it was time to round out her experience with a deeper understanding of business strategy.

“I was ready to step into senior management, and I knew this program would be instrumental in helping me achieve that goal,” she says. “My husband participated in Cohort 14, and I saw firsthand how valuable the program was in building a strong understanding of business principles.”

Now, with her eye on graduating in December 2025, Carmi is already applying classroom insights to her career. The program, she explains, has proven instrumental in “enhancing my ability to navigate executive decision-making while strengthening key competencies in strategic leadership, financial acumen, and process optimization,” she says.

Carmi is proud to bring an entrepreneurial mindset to the group. She launched a consulting business in 2018 and sees the EMBA as an opportunity to reinvest in that ambition. The program, she says, has already expanded her perspective beyond “technical domains” and boosted her entrepreneurial ambitions.

“This program has given me ideas on what the next chapter of my life might be,” she says. “It significantly helped boost my confidence with real-world application insights and helped with exposure to diverse perspectives.

“I love the professors, my cohort, and the people behind the scenes -- Nadine [Bentis] and team -- who make it all happen. The discussions, the classroom energy, and the intent behind every activity make this journey one of a kind.”
